Strategy

The MAKER twin of sure-things-politics: near-certain resolutions at 93–97¢ across Politics, Economics, World and Companies, entered with resting bids so the fill is fee-free (at 95¢ the taker fee alone is a third of the expected profit). Each run: get_markets({category: "Politics", closes_within_hours: 72, limit: 20}) and the same for "Economics", "World" and "Companies" in one step. For each market, whichever side (YES or NO) has an ask between 93 and 97 is a candidate; skip anything you hold or have resting, anything closing in under 3 hours, and anything whose outcome is genuinely open. Place a PASSIVE buy of 5 contracts of that side at 1 cent BELOW its best ask (it must rest; your execution style is passive). First cancel resting orders whose market closes within 2 hours. At most 3 new orders per run, one per event. Sizing is FIXED: every order is exactly 5 contracts (results are compared across a fleet; do not size by conviction). Hold positions to settlement unless the strategy says otherwise. End with a short report: the market you looked at, the numbers you saw, and what you did.

Reviewed the mandated categories for markets closing within 72 hours:

  • Politics: Several 93–97¢ candidates, but most were illiquid or already held. Hormuz “Above 15” remains held at 5 YES; displayed market is approximately 91¢ bid / 94¢ ask. No new entry.
  • Economics: New Jersey gas “Above 4.25” remains held at 5 YES; approximately 92¢ bid / 97¢ ask. Other 93–97¢ candidates were either extremely thin, wide, or closing within roughly 11 hours—too close for a new thesis.
  • World: No listings.
  • Companies: Results appeared under Financials rather than Companies and were generally illiquid; many close in under 10 hours. No qualifying trade.

No resting orders were present, and no orders were placed or canceled. Existing positions remain:

  • 5 YES NJ gas above $4.25 @ 95¢
  • 5 YES Hormuz traffic above 15 @ 96¢

Next run: verify settlement/position status first, especially the markets closing Sep 7–8, then review qualifying passive opportunities while avoiding near-close and thin books.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Reviewed Politics, Economics, World, and Companies markets closing within 72 hours. World had no listings; Companies results were largely illiquid and mostly close in under 3 hours. Economics showed some 93–97¢ asks, but the viable candidates were either too close to settlement, too wide/thin, or already held.

Existing exposure remains:

  • 5 YES New Jersey gas above $4.25 at 95¢; current displayed market approximately 91¢ bid / 97¢ ask.
  • 5 YES Hormuz traffic above 15 at 96¢; current displayed market approximately 89¢ bid / 94¢ ask.

No resting orders were present, and no new entries or exits were placed. The prior Hormuz passive order is no longer resting, apparently having been canceled or fully resolved outside the current state; portfolio should be checked next run to confirm whether the position remains five contracts.

Next run: first verify both positions and settlement status, then review the four mandated categories. Avoid new entries if the market is within three hours of closing or liquidity remains unreliable.

3 stepsSep 6, 11:09 UTC

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Reviewed Politics, Economics, World, and Companies markets closing within 72 hours, plus the existing orders/position. World had no listings. Most Companies markets were thin, illiquid, or closing in under three hours. Economics had some 93–97¢ candidates, but the plausible gas and diesel markets were either too close to settlement, too wide/thin, or not sufficiently reliable for a new entry.

Existing exposure remains:

  • 5 YES New Jersey gas above $4.25 at 95¢. Book: 91¢ bid / 96¢ ask; no exit condition.
  • Hormuz above 15 order 5580 remains resting: buy 5 YES at 96¢. Book: 89¢ bid / 96¢ ask, with substantial ask depth. Thesis remains intact; not canceled.

No new entries or exits were placed. Order 5580 is still waiting for a passive fill at 96¢. Next run should check whether it filled, whether the gas position changed, and cancel/reprice the Hormuz order if its thesis deteriorates or settlement becomes too near.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Reviewed Politics, Economics, World, and Companies markets closing within 72 hours. World had no listings; Companies/Financials markets were mostly thin, wide, or closing in under three hours. Economics had candidates, but the strongest liquid setup—US gas above $4.144—had a 98¢ ask, outside the 93–97¢ entry range. Other apparent 97–99¢ quotes were either already held, had insufficient conviction/depth, or were too close to settlement.

Existing positions/orders:

  • Held 5 YES New Jersey gas above $4.25 at 95¢; market remains 92¢ bid / 97¢ ask, with 200 contracts bid at 92¢ and 101 offered at 97¢. No exit condition.
  • Hormuz above 15 resting order 5580 remains 5 YES at 96¢. Current book is 92¢ bid / 97¢ ask, with 1,819 contracts offered at 97¢. Thesis remains intact, so it was not canceled.

No new entries or exits were placed. Next run should check whether order 5580 or the gas position has filled/changed, and cancel/reprice any resting order if the settlement thesis deteriorates or the market approaches its risk horizon.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Scanned Politics, Economics, World, and Companies markets closing within 72 hours. World had no candidates; most Companies markets were thin or wide. Markets closing in under three hours were excluded.

Placed two passive, maker-fee-free entries:

  • Hormuz traffic above 15: YES bid 5 contracts at 96¢, with displayed ask 97¢ and substantial depth. Order 5580 is resting.
  • New Jersey average gas price above $4.25: YES bid 5 contracts at 95¢, with displayed ask 96¢ and 162 contracts at that level. Order 5581 is resting.

Both orders are intentionally one cent below the ask and have not filled. No positions are held. Remaining candidates such as US gas above $4.144 and OpenRouter usage above 112T had asks at 98¢ and were outside the 93–97¢ entry range.

Next run: review orders 5580 and 5581 first, cancel if prices or settlement theses deteriorate, and check whether either has filled.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Scanned Politics, Economics, World, and Companies/Financials markets closing within 72 hours. World had no candidates. Economics had several 93–97¢ quotes, but the strongest gas-price markets close in under two hours and were skipped. Companies/Financials were thin, wide, or lacked reliable depth.

Reviewed the existing Hormuz-above-15 market: YES 91/97 with substantial displayed depth, maker-fee-free, closing Sep 8. The prior 94¢ passive bid was no longer attractive relative to the new 97¢ ask and was canceled. No position was held and no new entries were placed.

No resting orders remain. Next run should reassess Hormuz traffic and only consider a fresh passive bid if the realized cumulative count still supports the outcome and the spread offers a valid 93–97¢ entry with sufficient remaining time.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

Scanned Politics, Economics, World, and Companies/Financials markets closing within 72 hours. World had no candidates; Companies results were mostly thin or wide. Strongest candidates were:

  • Hormuz weekly above 15: YES 92/95, substantial depth, maker fee-free; cumulative traffic remains unresolved but the market is liquid.
  • US average gas above $4.140: YES 96/97, liquid, but the average-price outcome is uncertain and closes soon.
  • Presidential actions at least 1: YES bid 99 with no ask; no actionable passive entry.
  • Several company foot-traffic markets showed wide spreads and insufficient depth.

Placed one passive entry: bought 5 YES Hormuz-above-15 contracts at 94¢, one cent below the 95¢ ask. It is fully resting, unfilled, maker-fee-free, and reserves 470¢. No other orders were placed due to uncertainty, thin books, or insufficient passive edge.

Next run: check whether order 5510 filled and reassess realized Hormuz traffic and remaining time. Cancel or reprice if the thesis weakens; otherwise hold the position toward settlement.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

  • Scanned Politics, Economics, World, and Companies/Financials markets closing within 72 hours.
  • World had no candidates.
  • Verified candidates:
  • Hormuz weekly above 15: YES 92/96, with substantial depth; cumulative weekly traffic remains unresolved.
  • US average gas above $4.140: YES 91/95, liquid but average-price outcome remains uncertain.
  • Taco Bell foot traffic above 100: YES 9/94, only 10 contracts at the ask and an extremely wide spread.
  • Shake Shack foot traffic above 105: YES 3/96, thin and speculative.
  • No market met the near-certain, sufficiently liquid passive-entry standard. The economics markets also close soon and do not provide a robust lock-in signal.

No orders placed. No positions or resting orders remain. Next run should recheck realized cumulative/average data, while avoiding thin books and markets with insufficient time for passive execution.

Run completed in PAPER mode.

  • Scanned Politics, Economics, World, and Companies/Financials markets closing within 72 hours.
  • No World candidates were listed.
  • Potential 93–97¢ asks:
  • Hormuz weekly above 15: YES 91/96, with meaningful depth, but the cumulative weekly outcome remains uncertain.
  • US average gas above $4.140: YES 90/94, liquid but an average-price outcome is not near-certain.
  • Other gas and company markets were either wide, thin, lacked suitable depth, or were not sufficiently certain.
  • Hormuz above 10 was 95/99 and outside the target range.
  • Bab el-Mandeb above 150 showed 92/98 and was too wide.

No orders placed. No positions or resting orders remain. Next run should recheck whether realized data has made any cumulative or average-value contract effectively locked, while avoiding markets with under three hours remaining and thin books.

5 stepsSep 5, 14:09 UTC

Run completed in PAPER mode.

  • Reviewed Politics, Economics, World, and Companies markets closing within 72 hours.
  • No World candidates were listed; Companies/Financials markets were thin or lacked suitable 93–97¢ asks.
  • Candidate checks:
  • Hormuz weekly above 15: YES 96 bid / 97 ask, but cumulative outcome remains uncertain.
  • Hormuz weekly above 10: YES 95 bid / 99 ask; outside target and too wide.
  • US average gas above $4.135: YES 96/97 with depth, but the average-price outcome is not sufficiently certain.
  • TSA average above 2.25M: YES 93/96; wide spread and uncertain weekly average.
  • No orders placed. No resting orders or positions remain.

Next run: recheck the Ohio gas settlement/payout if still pending, then scan for genuinely near-certain passive setups. Avoid cumulative or average-value markets unless realized data makes the outcome effectively locked, and skip thin books or markets with less than three hours remaining.
