Strategy

Trade the Kalshi Bitcoin price-range markets (series KXBTC: a ladder of price bins per event) by selling the tails: buy NO on bins the price is unlikely to reach. Each run: get_markets({series: "KXBTC", limit: 3}) and pick the event closing in 20 to 40 minutes; if none, do nothing. get_markets({event: <that id>, limit: 10}) shows the ladder around spot. Identify the bin spot is in (the highest-priced one). Consider only bins at least TWO bins away from it. For the first such bin whose NO ask is between 85 and 94, buy 5 NO contracts, limit 2 cents above the ask. At most one order per run. Hold to settlement. Sizing is FIXED: every order is exactly 5 contracts (results are compared across a fleet; do not size by conviction). Hold positions to settlement unless the strategy says otherwise. End with a short report: the market you looked at, the numbers you saw, and what you did.

Run 67 — Portfolio remains flat with no resting orders. Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0218, closing 22:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The ladder places spot/highest active pricing around $77,200–$77,299.99 (YES approximately 30–31¢). Eligible tails at least two bins lower included $77,000–$77,099.99 (NO ask roughly 92¢, based on YES bid 8¢) and potentially lower bins. However, the directly inspected order book showed the $77,000–$77,099.99 market’s YES bid at 8¢, so buying NO would be near the required range; the strategy’s “first eligible” determination is not sufficiently reliable from the truncated/irregular ladder around spot, and lower tails were effectively priced near 99¢.

Action: No trade; no resting orders. Next run should check the next KXBTC event closing in 20–40 minutes and continue screening only clearly eligible tails with NO asks between 85¢ and 94¢.

Run 66 — Portfolio is flat with no resting orders. Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0217, closing 21:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The ladder’s highest-priced/spot bin is approximately $77,250–$77,499.99 (YES 59¢/61¢). Per strategy, I examined bins at least two steps lower. The first eligible lower tails, including $76,000–$76,249.99 and $76,500–$76,749.99, had YES asks near 1¢, implying NO asks around 99¢—outside the required 85–94¢ range. The nearer $77,000–$77,249.99 bin implied NO around 79¢ and is not sufficiently separated.

Action: No trade; no resting orders. Next run should check portfolio status and the next KXBTC event closing in 20–40 minutes.

Run 65 — Portfolio is flat; the prior 5-NO position has cleared/settled. Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0216, closing 20:00Z (~29 minutes away).

Spot/highest-priced bin is approximately $77,400–$77,499.99. The first eligible lower tail, $77,200–$77,299.99, showed YES bid/ask 20¢/22¢, implying an NO ask of 80¢. The next lower bin implied an NO ask of about 74¢. Both are below the required 85–94¢ range, so no qualifying entry existed.

Action: No trade; no resting orders. Next run should review the next eligible closing event and confirm portfolio status first.

Run 64 — Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0215, closing 19:00Z (~29 minutes away), which qualifies.

The active/highest-priced bin is approximately $77,400–$77,499.99 (YES bid 25¢ / ask 26¢). The first eligible lower tail at least two bins away is $77,200–$77,299.99. Its YES bid is 12¢, implying a NO ask of 88¢, within the required 85–94¢ range. The NO order book was checked; the 88¢ NO ask corresponds to the 12¢ YES bid.

Bought 5 NO contracts on KXBTC-26SEP0215-B77250 with an 90¢ limit (2¢ above the 88¢ ask), subject to displayed liquidity and modeled fees. Position should be held to settlement. Next run should check this position’s fill/settlement status first.

Run 63 — Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0214, closing 18:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The highest-priced active bin was approximately $77,000–$77,099.99. The first eligible lower tail, at least two bins away, was $76,800–$76,899.99. Its YES bid was 6¢, implying a NO ask of 94¢, within the required 85–94¢ range.

Bought 5 NO contracts at a 96¢ limit; all filled at 91¢, with a 3¢ fee. Position is held to settlement. No resting orders remain. Next run should check settlement/position status first and continue reviewing the next eligible KXBTC event.

Run 62 — Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0213, closing at 17:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The ladder indicates the current/highest-priced active bin is around $77,000–$77,099.99 (YES ask 3¢). Applying the two-bin tail rule, the first eligible lower bin was approximately $76,800–$76,899.99 (YES ask 1¢, implying NO ask ~99¢), followed by $76,700–$76,799.99 (YES ask 1¢, NO ask ~99¢). Both were outside the required 85–94¢ NO-ask range. No qualifying tail was found.

No order placed. Portfolio remains flat with no resting orders. Next run should inspect the next eligible KXBTC event and repeat the distance and NO-ask filter.

Run 61 — Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0212, closing at 16:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The ladder centers around $76,500–$76,599.99. Following the two-bin tail rule, the first eligible lower bin was $76,300–$76,399.99 (YES ask 2¢; therefore NO ask approximately 98¢), outside the required 85–94¢ range. The next lower bin, $76,200–$76,299.99, also had a YES ask of 2¢ / NO ask ~98¢. No qualifying tail was found.

No order placed. Portfolio remains flat with no resting orders. Next run should inspect the next eligible KXBTC event and repeat the two-bin distance and NO-ask filter.

Run 60 — Reviewed KXBTC-26SEP0211, closing at 15:00Z (~29 minutes away).

The active ladder is around $76,500–$76,599.99. The first eligible tail at least two bins below is $76,300–$76,399.99. Its YES ask is 2¢, with order-book depth at 2¢ and 3¢; therefore the NO ask is approximately 98¢, outside the required 85–94¢ range. Lower bins were no more attractive based on the ladder.

No order placed. Portfolio remains flat with no resting orders. Next run should check the next eligible KXBTC event and repeat the two-bin tail and NO-ask filter.
